Students participating in the 2+3 SCU (Pharmaceutical Sciences and Technology) Programme will undertake their first 2 years of undergraduate study at the UM and complete the rest 3 years at the Sichuan University (SCU).

Participants in this Programme will receive two bachelor’s degrees, one from the UM (Bachelor of Science in Pharmaceutical Sciences and Technology) and the other one from the SCU (Bachelor of Natural Science in Clinical Pharmacy) upon completion of the programme.

Target Students:

  • Macao and Hong Kong students (holders of either a “Macao Resident Identity Card” or a “Hong Kong Identity Card”, along with the “Mainland Travel Permit for Hong Kong and Macao Residents”); and
  • Students who were admitted in the academic year 2022/2023 onwards and are currently enrolled in the BSc in Pharmaceutical Sciences and Technology programme (PHA22); and
  • Students who are in good academic standing and have tested out of the Chinese language course (CHLL1000 – University Chinese).

Students who are interested in the 2+3 SCU (Pharmaceutical Sciences and Technology) Programme are required to review their enrolment records and study plans with the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences (DPS) of the Faculty of Health Sciences (FHS) during their first year of studies in UM.

Considering students admitted to the 2+3 SCU (Pharmaceutical Sciences and Technology) programme will be required to pay tuition fees for both UM and SCU, and also the living expenses in Chinese mainland during the study abroad period at SCU, the UM has approved the following arrangement:

  • Students’ UM tuition fees for the study abroad period at SCU will be waived; and
  • Students’ UM scholarships, prizes and subsidies will be suspended during the study abroad period at SCU; and
  • Students will be required to bear the tuition fees and the living expenses in Chinese mainland during the study abroad period at SCU.
