Students participating in the 1+2+1 ECNU (Mathematics Education – Mathematics and Applied Mathematics) Programme will undertake their first year and fourth year of undergraduate study at the UM and complete their second and third year at the East China Normal University.

Participants in this Programme will receive two bachelor’s degrees, one from the UM (Bachelor of Education in Mathematics) and the other one from the ECNU (Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Applied Mathematics) upon completion of the programme.

Target Students:

  • Hong Kong and Macao students (holders of either “Macao Resident Identity Card” or “Hong Kong Identity Card”, together with the “Mainland Travel Permit for Hong Kong and Macao Residents”); and
  • BEd in Mathematics students who were admitted in academic year 2019/2020 onwards (MAS19); and
  • Students who are in good academic standing.

Students who are interested in the 1+2+1 ECNU (Mathematics Education – Mathematics and Applied Mathematics) Programme are required to review their enrolment records and study plans with the Faculty of Education (FED) during their first year of studies in UM.

Students participating in the 2.5+2.5 Fudan (Finance) Programme will undertake their first 2.5 years of undergraduate study at the UM and complete the rest 2.5 years at the Fudan University (Fudan).

Participants in this Programme will receive two bachelor’s degrees, one from the UM (Bachelor of Science in Finance) and the other one from Fudan (Bachelor of Economics (Finance)) upon completion of the programme.

Target Students:

  • Macao students (holders of both “Macao Resident Identity Card” and “Mainland Travel Permit for Hong Kong and Macao Residents”); and
  • BSc in Finance students who were admitted in academic year 2020/2021 onwards (FNC20); and
  • Students who are in good academic standing.

Students who are interested in the 2.5+2.5 Fudan (Finance) Programme are required to review their enrolment records and study plans with the Department of Finance and Business Economics (FBE) of the Faculty of Business Administration (FBA) during their first or second year of studies in UM.

Participants in this Programme will receive two bachelor’s degrees, one from the UM (Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering) and the other one from South China University of Technology (Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering) upon completion of the programme.

Target Students:

  • Macao students (holders of both “Macao Resident Identity Card” and “Mainland Travel Permit for Hong Kong and Macao Residents”); and
  • BSc in Civil Engineering students who were admitted in academic year 2020/2021 onwards (CVE17); and
  • Students who are in good academic standing.

Students who are interested in the 2+2 SCUT (Civil Engineering) Programme are required to review their enrolment records and study plans with the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) of the Faculty of Science and Technology (FST) during their first year of studies in UM.

Students participating in the 3+1+1 SBU Programme will undertake their first three years of undergraduate study at the UM and their fourth year at the State University of New York at Stony Brook (commonly referred to as Stony Brook University, SBU). If students successfully obtain the bachelor’s degree from the UM after the fourth year, they can continue to study at the SBU for another year towards a master’s degree offered by the SBU.

Participants in the 3+1+1 SBU Programme will receive a bachelor’s degree from the UM upon completion of the fourth year of studies and a master’s degree from the SBU upon completion of the Programme.

Students who have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher and successfully completed the specified course requirements for their bachelor’s degree during their first three or four years of studies at UM will be eligible to apply for the 3+1+1 SBU programmme. A TOEFL score of 85 or overall IELTS score of 6.5 or above and no subsection below 6 on the internet based test will be required during application and the final decision on admission to the 3+1+1 SBU programme will be solely at the discretion of SBU.

SBU will guide the students to apply for the 3+1+1 SBU programme on-line by 20 March 2020.

In accordance with the UM credit-based tuition scheme for bachelor’s degree programmes, students who join a study abroad programme for one or more semesters should pay a fixed amount of tuition fee of 15 credits for every semester during their study abroad period regardless of the number of credits they will take and earn from the partner university.  Other than that, students admitted to this 3+1+1 programme will also be charged the non-resident tuition at the rate for the programme for each semester that they study at SBU.

Considering students admitted to this 3+1+1 programme will be required to pay tuition fees for both UM and SBU, and also the living expenses in USA during the study abroad period at SBU, the UM has approved the following arrangement:

  • Students’ UM tuition fees for the study abroad period at SBU will be waived; and
  • Students’ UM scholarships, prizes and subsidies will be suspended during the study abroad period at SBU;
  • Students will be required to bear the tuition fees and the living expenses in USA during the study abroad period at SBU.

Students participating in the 3+2 TU Programme will undertake their first three years of undergraduate study at the UM and be directly admitted to the graduate school of the Temple University (TU) in the United States. They will study at the TU for another two years to complete the UM bachelor’s degree and the TU master’s degree.

Participants in the 3+2 TU Programme will receive a bachelor’s degree from the UM and a master’s degree from the TU upon completion of the Programme.
