In accordance with the UM credit-based tuition scheme for bachelor’s degree programmes, students who join a study abroad programme for one or more semesters should pay a fixed amount of tuition fee of 15 credits for every semester during their study abroad period regardless of the number of credits they will take and earn from the partner university. Other than that, students admitted to this 3+1+1 programme will also be charged the non-resident tuition at the rate for the programme for each semester that they study at SBU.
Considering students admitted to this 3+1+1 programme will be required to pay tuition fees for both UM and SBU, and also the living expenses in USA during the study abroad period at SBU, the UM has approved the following arrangement:
- Students’ UM tuition fees for the study abroad period at SBU will be waived; and
- Students’ UM scholarships, prizes and subsidies will be suspended during the study abroad period at SBU;
- Students will be required to bear the tuition fees and the living expenses in USA during the study abroad period at SBU.
