Arrangements of Classes and Final Examinations during Typhoons or Rainstorms in Macao

Tropical Cyclone Signal No.1 or No. 3/Yellow or Red Rainstorm Warning Signal

When Tropical Cyclone Signal No. 1 or No. 3/Yellow or Red Rainstorm Warning Signal is hoisted, all classes and final examinations will be held as scheduled.

Tropical Cyclone Signal No. 8 (or above)/Black Rainstorm Warning Signal

When Tropical Cyclone Signal No. 8 (or above)/Black Rainstorm Warning Signal is hoisted or cancelled, the following arrangements will be made for classes and final examinations:

Before the classes and final examinations start

 

All classes, final examinations and outdoor teaching activities will be suspended until the related signal is cancelled.

[E.g. If the signal is announced at 17:00 to be hoisted at 22:00, all classes, final examinations and outdoor teaching activities which begin after 17:00 will be suspended.]

After the classes and final examinations start

 

All classes and outdoor teaching activities* will be suspended immediately while final examinations will be continued till the end as scheduled.

* The staff responsible should take all students to a safe place and make sure that it is safe for them to leave.

[E.g. If the signal is announced at 17:00 to be hoisted at 22:00,  all classes and outdoor teaching activities (those that began at 17:00 or earlier) will be suspended immediately while final examinations will be continued till the end as scheduled.]

Arrangement of classes and final examinations when the signal is cancelled
Classes and final examinations which begin 2 hours after the cancellation of signal will be held as scheduled. All outdoor teaching activities on that day will be cancelled.

[E.g.: If the signal is cancelled at 13:00, classes and final examinations which begin at or after 15:00 will be held as scheduled.]

1. Academic units will announce arrangements for final examination postponement on their webpages.

2. The above arrangements are not applicable to the practicum or internship courses. Students who are doing these courses should follow the related arrangements and guidelines of the host organization.
