The promotion requirement is based on the number of credits required by the programme and the number of credits students completed. Students can have a maximum of 6 credits (2 courses in general) of delay study or course failures on promotion.

Let’s take a 4-year 120-credit undergraduate programme as an example, the promotion requirement will be calculated as follows:

Year Level No. of Credits required for Year Promotion Calculation
Year 2 24 120 credits / 4 years – 6 credits
Year 3 54 120 credits / 4 years x 2 years – 6 credits
Year 4 84 120 credits / 4 years x 3 years – 6 credits
