NOTICE: Applicants applying for “Bonus Scheme” also have to successfully complete all the application procedures within the application period of Admission Examination (2nd – 16th January 2025).

Bonus Scheme for Admission Examination Candidates 2025/2026

The University has devised a “Bonus Scheme” for Admission Examination candidates.  Applicants with listed qualifications may receive bonus of 20 to 50 marks added to the results of the Admission Examination.

1. Qualification

1.1 Applicants must:
1.1.1 Currently be Form 6 students of Macao secondary schools; and

1.1.2  Sit for Admission Examination of the University of Macau.

1.2 Applicants with awards/qualifications in the categories listed below may submit their applications within the application period. Applicants who possess talents not listed in the scheme should also upload the competition rules and the list of awardees concerned (rather than the testimonial only). Otherwise, the application will not be processed.

2. Application Category

2.1 Academic Awards (Science and Technology related)

2.3 Sports Awards/Qualifications

Remark: Invitational tournaments, Tryouts, Testing or Exhibition matches of above-mentioned item c to e are not applicable to the Bonus Scheme.

2.4 Musicianship (restricted to musical instruments only)

d. Proof to show participation in performance (concerts, contests, etc.) held by international or regional organizations. During the last three years of secondary school study
e. Proof to show participation in performance (concerts, contests, etc.) held by the Macao Cultural Affairs Bureau, Macau Band Directors Association or any other governmental institutions.

2.5 Qualifications of Whole Person Development

f. Achievement shown from the graded examinations included in the syllabus of CSTD (Commonwealth Society of Teachers of Dancing). Certificate of Grade 6 or above.
g. Students with other specific talents or outstanding achievements such as being leaders in students’ organizations, member of student council and member of Macao Youth Choir. During the last three years of secondary school study

3. Application Procedures

3.1 The application period for “Bonus Scheme” is from 13 to 24 January 2025.
3.2 Each applicant can submit one online application only. Applicants can apply for a maximum of 10 items of your awards/qualifications, across all categories, via the online application system.
3.3 Applicants have to complete all the application procedures of Admission Examination before submitting the application of Bonus Scheme. Applicants should login to the “Online Application System for Bonus Scheme” with the same login no. and password of the application system for Admission Examination to submit the application form and upload the certificates/testimonials of awards or qualifications onto the application system. 
3.3.1 All submitted documents are in PDF format and the file size should not be greater than 5MB;

3.3.2 All submitted documents must be in A4 size;

3.3.3 Applicants with more than one award/qualification in the same category should scan all certificates continuously in black & white colour format and save them in a single PDF file (less than 5MB) and upload the file to the relevant field.

3.4 Applicants can update any information/files whether or not the applicant has submitted his/her application during the application period. However, further revision cannot be made after the application deadline.
3.5 The application will not be processed if:
3.5.1 an applicant fails to complete the application for Admission Examination;

3.5.2 an applicant fails to complete the application information or upload required supporting documents (or if they are not readable) in the online application system of “Bonus Scheme”;

3.5.3 an applicant fails to submit the application by the application deadline.

4. Assessment

4.1 Upon verification and assessment by the University of Macau, applicants with any of the above qualifications may receive a bonus of 20 to 50 marks added to the results of all Admission Examination subjects required for the applied programmes.
4.2 Total bonus marks of single category such as “Academic Awards (Science and Technology related) / Academic Awards (Arts related) / Sports Awards / Musicianship / Qualifications of Whole Person Development” to be granted should not exceed 60. Nevertheless, there is no upper limit of total bonus scores to be granted across different categories.
4.3 Applicants may not receive any bonus marks if the information submitted does not meet the qualification requirements. 
4.4 Results of the Bonus Scheme will be released together with the admission examination scores by the University in early May 2025.

5. Statements and Responsibilities

5.1 Candidates offered admission to the University of Macau must present the originals of related awards or qualifications to the Registry of the University within the specified period. Otherwise, applicants will be disqualified from the admission to the University.  The University also reserves the right to verify the submitted documents with related institutions.
5.2 Applicants must guarantee that the information given in the application form is TRUE. The University of Macau reserves the right to terminate the application/admission or study at any time if any UNTRUE information is found later.  Should such a case occur, neither fees nor documents submitted will be refunded and returned and the applicant should bear all the consequent responsibilities. 
5.3 During the study at the University, all talented students have the obligations to participate in the related activities and competitions organized by the University or outside parties, so that they can continue to develop the skills and foster a diversified learning environment inside the University.
