Application and Admission Rules

For admission to our bachelor programme, international applicants may consider to apply via two admission channels.  They are:

1. Admission Examination

Admission Examination
Application period 2nd  – 16th January 2025
Application requirements
Applicants with any of the following qualifications may apply for bachelor’s programme by Admission Examination:

  • Form 6 graduates or equivalent;
  • Candidates currently studying in Form 6 or equivalent;
  • For applicants aged 23 or above on 1 September 2025

Direct Admission
Application period 3rd February – 07th April 2025
Direct Admission application qualification and requirement:
  • Applicants with any of the following qualification may apply to Direct Admission.
  • Applicants must have met the below application requirements and upload all the required documents such as personal identification document and academic documents during the application period.
Public Examinations/Qualifications (academic year 2025/2026)
  1. Successfully completed Form 6 or equivalent; or currently enrolled in Form 6 or equivalent;
  2. Grade C in 3 Advanced Level subjects (not including English/Chinese subject).
  • For applicants to Faculty of Science and Technology, the above mentioned subjects must include Physics.
  • For applicants to Faculty of Health Sciences, the above mentioned subjects must include Chemistry.
  1. Successfully completed Form 6 or equivalent; or currently enrolled in Form 6 or equivalent;
  2. SAT score at 1,190 or above (out of overall total score at 1,600); AND
  3. AP in 2 subjects, each with Grade 3 or above (out of overall total score at 5).
  • For applicants to Faculty of Science and Technology, the above-mentioned AP subjects must include Physics.
  • For applicants to Faculty of Health Sciences, the above-mentioned AP subjects must include Chemistry.
  1. Successfully completed Form 6 or equivalent; or currently enrolled in Form 6 or equivalent;
  2. ACT composite score at 24 or above; AND
  3. AP in 2 subjects, each with Grade 3 or above (out of overall total score at 5).
  • For applicants to Faculty of Science and Technology, the above-mentioned AP subjects must include Physics.
  • For applicants to Faculty of Health Sciences, the above-mentioned AP subjects must include Chemistry.
  • Successfully completed the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme Curriculum and awarded the International Baccalaureate Diploma; or
  • Potential graduate of International Baccalaureate Diploma.
  • IB diploma with 28 points or above (out of overall total score at 45)
  • For applicants to Faculty of Science and Technology, applicants must have obtained Higher Level (HL) Physics.
  • For applicants to Faculty of Health Sciences, applicants must have obtained Higher Level (HL) Chemistry.
  1. Successfully completed Form 6 or equivalent; or currently enrolled in Form 6 or equivalent;
  2. Provincial High School Graduation Diploma with an average of 80% or above in five Grade 12 subjects (For Ontario Secondary School Diploma-OSSD requires 80% in six Grade 12 subjects).
  • For applicants to Faculty of Science and Technology, the above-mentioned Grade 12 subjects must include Physics.
  • For applicants to Faculty of Health Sciences, the above-mentioned Grade 12 subjects must include Chemistry
  • Successfully completed Form 6 or equivalent; or currently enrolled in Form 6 or equivalent.
  1. Successfully completed Form 6 or equivalent; or currently enrolled in Form 6 or equivalent;
  2. Obtained the following results in HKDSE in one sitting:
  • Level 3 or above in English Language; and
  • Level 3 or above in Chinese Language; and
  • Level 2 or above in Mathematics; and
  • “Attained” in Citizenship and Social Development; and
  • Level 3 or above in two elective subjects (Category A)
  • For applicants to Faculty of Science and Technology, applicants must have obtained Level 3 or above in the elective subject of Physics.
  • For applicants to Faculty of Health Sciences, applicants must have obtained Level 3 or above in the elective subject of Chemistry.
  1. Successfully completed Form 6 or equivalent;
  2. Obtained the following results in HKDSE in one sitting:
  • Level 3 or above in English Language; and
  • Level 3 or above in Chinese Language; and
  • Level 2 or above in Mathematics; and
  • Level 2 or above in Liberal Studies; and
  • Level 3 or above in one elective subject
  • For applicants to Faculty of Science and Technology, applicants must have obtained Level 3 or above in the elective subject of Physics.
  • For applicants to Faculty of Health Sciences, applicants must have obtained Level 3 or above in the elective subject of Chemistry.
  1. Successfully completed Form 6 or equivalent; or currently enrolled in Form 6 or equivalent;
  2. Obtained the following GSAT results in 4 subjects:
    • English subject result at “Good Standard” or above; and
    • Result in the other three subjects at “Average Standard” or above.
    • For applicants to the Faculty of Science and Technology, the Mathematics subject at “Good Standard” or above.
    1. Successfully completed Form 6 or equivalent; AND
    2. Passed in Grade C or above in at least 6 subjects in UEC
    • For applicants to Faculty of Science and Technology, the above mentioned subjects must include Physics.
    • For applicants to Faculty of Health Sciences, the above mentioned subjects must include Chemistry.
    1. Successfully completed Form 6 or equivalent; AND
    2. Passed in Grade C or above in at least 3 subjects, other than language subject in STPM.
    • For applicants to Faculty of Science and Technology, the above mentioned subjects must include Physics.
    • For applicants to Faculty of Health Sciences, the above mentioned subjects must include Chemistry.
    • Successfully completed Form 6 or equivalent; or currently enrolled in Form 6 or equivalent.
    • Successfully completed Form 6 or equivalent; or currently enrolled in Form 6 or equivalent.
    • Successfully completed Form 6 or equivalent; or currently enrolled in Form 6 or equivalent.
    Qualifications of admission to bachelor programme/currently enrolled a bachelor programme (academic year 2025/2026)
    • Successfully completed a bachelor programme and graduate of a bachelor degree; or
    • Potential graduate of a bachelor degree.
    1. Successfully completed an associate degree or higher diploma and graduate/holder of the degree/diploma; or potential graduate/holder of an associate degree or higher diploma;
    2. Cumulative GPA must attain 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale.
    1. Successfully completed Form 6 or equivalent; and
    2. Currently enrolled /had registered in a bachelor programme in other higher education institution.
    1. Successfully completed Form 6 or equivalent; or currently enrolled in Form 6 or equivalent;
    2. Qualifications that are acceptable for admission to bachelor’s programme in higher education institutions outside Macao.
    • Hold an official offer letter for bachelor programme issued by a recognized higher education institution outside Macao. The offer must be of current admission year while all conditions, if any, must be fulfilled; or
    • Hold the public examination result for admission to a bachelor programme. If the result was taken in past years, the University has the right to request for additional information such as study record and transcript of higher education institutions thereafter from the time of examination taken.
    English Requirement
    Students applying for a programme with English as the main teaching medium have to attend an interview to evaluate the applicant’s English proficiency for admission. Applicants who have attained the following results may be exempted from the said interview:

    1) Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL): Internet-based test: a minimum score of 80; or

    2) International English Language Testing System (IELTS): Band 6.0 or above.

    3) International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE): Grade C / 5 or above in English subject.

    2. On-line application will be available during the application period.
    3. An interview may be required for admission selection of undergraduate programmes.
    4. For applicants of Direct Admission, no further revision of programme choice or application information/documents can be accepted after the application fee has been settled as the University will process qualified applications in due course. For those who have applied programme(s) of Faculty of Law, the applications will be pooled for assessment after the deadline for Direct Admission.
